Sleepy's Plans to Increase Participation in Second Year Sponsorship
Bethpage, NY (July 3rd, 2008) - Sleepy's, the Mattress Professionals, one of the leading mattress companies on the east coast, is stepping up for their second year as a Corporate Flagship Sponsor of the American Cancer Society's MAKING STRIDES Against Breast Cancer. After success in 2007, Sleepy's hopes to increase employee participation and proceeds in 2008 by expanding and improving fundraisers company-wide. At a leadership summit this past May, the CEO of the American Cancer Society personally congratulated Sleepy's human resources representatives for their 2007 efforts, which included various company fundraisers and participation in Making Strides walk-a-thons throughout their trading area. Sleepy's and other companies in attendance at the ACS summit discussed innovative ways to encourage employee involvement in the fight against breast cancer, which they plan to implement in their 2008 campaign. One new strategy being initiated this year is opening the option of team leadership to all Sleepy's employees, enabling those who work outside of Sleepy's corporate headquarters to hold a significant role in the fundraising efforts by creating and motivating their own team under the Sleepy's name. With this new option, along with several new company-wide events planned for 2008, Sleepy's expects a marked increase in employee involvement and funds raised for Making Strides over last year.
