Sleepy's Expands Partnership with Toys for Tots for 2008

Mattress company opens collections to showrooms across the east coast

Bethpage, NY (November 1, 2008) ? Sleepy's, the Mattress Professionals, family-owned east coast mattress company, has partnered up with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in their tradition of providing underprivileged children with gifts this holiday season. In an effort to expand their contribution over previous years, nearly all of Sleepy's 700 showrooms will serve as conveniently located drop-off stations to the surrounding communities. Sleepy's stores will also be accepting cash donations, which will be used by the Toys for Tots Foundation to purchase and distribute age-appropriate gifts to children in need.

Throughout Sleepy's history with Toys for Tots, the company has opened donation opportunities to their corporate employees and select showrooms. The 2008 holiday season will be the first time their efforts will be this widespread, including each participating Sleepy's showroom accepting monetary donations.

"Our goal is to make sure every needy child receives a toy for Christmas," says Major Bill Grein, USMC (Ret), Vice President of Marketing for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. "With over 13 million children living in poverty, cash donations help us meet the growing need to deliver age and gender appropriate gifts to all children. We couldn't do that without the tremendous help of corporate partners like Sleepy's and individual volunteers and donors."

Toys for Tots collection bins will also be placed in each of Sleepy's five distribution centers, providing all corporate employees the opportunity to donate. "Sleepy's is always looking for opportunities to expand our efforts to aid worthy causes, especially around the holidays when need is strongly felt," says Sleepy's Executive Vice President of Sales, Mike Bookbinder. "We're excited for this company-wide effort with Toys for Tots, and look forward to bringing joy to so many this holiday season."

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not for profit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to provide fundraising and other necessary support for their annual Toys for Tots Program. Along with their efforts for making drop spots for Toys for Tots at all of their locations, Sleepy's has also helped several other organizations that help families during tough times. Sleepy's and their employees have “adopted” several families during the Thanksgiving seasons which were organized through the Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services. Coats have been donated to the NY Cares Coat Drive from Sleepy's employees, as well as continuing efforts that support the United Way Campaign. Sleepy's believes that giving back unites their team and makes them stronger when they help those who need it most.
