Sleepy's Advertising Team Wins Two Communicator Awards in Video Category 2008

Bethpage, NY (May 31, 2008) - Sleepy's, the Mattress Professionals, leading mattress retailer in the Northeast, is proud to have been recognized by the 14th Annual Communicator Awards with two honors in the video category. Sleepy's received the highest award, the Award of Excellence, for a commercial entitled "Tango". Born out of a collaboration between Sleepy's Creative Director Cindy Rosenfield and RKL Productions Inc., the spot shows images of a tango dance set to dramatic violin music, illustrating the virtual 'battle' of the man and woman fighting for comfort in bed. The story ends with the couple sleeping soundly above a superimposed Sleepy's logo, having found the perfect mattress at last. Shot in Manhattan's Central Park, this spot was the product of one of the most large-scale commercial shoots in Sleepy's 50-year history, and it is validating to have their efforts recognized by the 2008 Communicator Awards.

Another of Sleepy's award-winning commercials entitled "Inner Child" was granted an Award of Distinction. The spot utilized Sleepy's motif of adult bed jumpers to invite adults everywhere, "Discover your inner child?on the mattress of your dreams."

Sleepy's has just debuted its newest series of commercials that made its television debut the week of December 26^th, 2011. The new commercials are two 30 second and two 60 second installments that feature The Beatles tune, “In My Life.” Throughout the commercial you see how the bedroom and the mattress can be a focal point for all of life’s most important and smallest moments. From wedded bliss to pregnancy to retirement, Sleepy's will be with you For the Rest of your Life. Sleepy's believes that the bedroom is a sanctuary where many of life’s moments occur, especially when you are not sleeping. In 2010 the Sleepy's Advertising team won several awards at both the Telly Awards and the Communicator Awards. Most recently, in 2011, the Sleepy's Advertising team, led by Creative Director Cindy Rosenfield, won two awards at the Communicator Awards for the commercial titled “Animal Dream.” “Animal Dream” won an Award of Distinction and Creative Excellence Retail/Specialty Store.
