  • 1957-The first Sleepy's store opens on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, NY
  • 1977-Sleepy's moves to a 20,000 square foot space in New Hyde Park, NY
  • 1986-Sleepy's builds a 60,000 square foot building in Port Washington, NY
  • 1994-Sleepy's moves to their corporate headquarters in Bethpage, NY with 60 loading and receiving doors, a 230,000 square foot center of warehousing, administration, sales, training and telemarketing
  • 1995-1-800-SLEEPYS was launched; a convenient toll-free service where people could consult with a Mattress Professional in the comfort of their home
  • 2004-A 135,000 square foot distribution center was added in Robbinsville, NJ and a new 120,000 square foot distribution center in East Windsor, CT
  • 2005-Sleepy's opens its 350th store and opens Sleepy's on Fifth
  • 2006-Sleepy's opens its 400th store
